መዝሙረ ዳዊት Psalm

O Lord, I will sing of Your mercies forever; I will proclaim Your truth with my mouth from generation to generation; For You said, “Mercy shall be built up forever;”

ወንጌል Gospel

1. In as much as many have taken in hand to set in order a narrative of those things which have been fulfilled among us, 2. just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word delivered them to us, 3. it seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write to you an orderly account, most excellent Theophilus, 4. that you may know the certainty of those things in which you were instructed. 5. There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah. His wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth. 6. And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. 7. But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both well advanced in years. 8. So it was, that while he was serving as priest before God in the order of his division, 9. according to the custom of the priesthood, his lot fell to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord. 10. And the whole multitude of the people was praying outside at the hour of incense. 11. Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense. 12. And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him. 13. But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. 14. And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth. 15. For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb. ‘It is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tittle of the law to fail,’ says the Lord to his desciples.

17. And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect. 18. For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise. 19. What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator. 20. Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one. 21. Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. 22. But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. 23. But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. 24. Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. 26. For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29. And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it. 7. For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority. 18. Did not Moses give you the law, yet none of you keeps the law? Why do you seek to kill Me?” 20. The people answered and said, “You have a demon. Who is seeking to kill You?” 21. Jesus answered and said to them, “ I did one work, and you all marvel. 22. Moses therefore gave you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath. 23. If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath, so that the law of Moses should not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath? 24. Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.” Whoever believes in the SON, have eternal life.

For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. 9.
