Then I said, “Behold, I come (it is written of me in the volume of the book); I willed to do Your will, O my God, And Your law in the midst of my heart.”

40. Therefore many from the crowd, when they heard this saying, said, “Truly this is the Prophet.” 41. Others said, “This is the Christ.” But some said, “Will the Christ come out of Galilee? 42. Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from the town of Bethlehem, where David was?” 43. So there was a division among the people because of Him. 44. Now some of them wanted to take Him, but no one laid hands on Him. 45. Then the officers came to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, “Why have you not brought Him?” 46. The officers answered, “No man ever spoke like this Man!” 47. Then the Pharisees answered them, “Are you also deceived? 48. Have any of the rulers or the Pharisees believed in Him? 49. But this crowd that does not know the law is accursed.” 50. Nicodemus (he who came to Jesus by night, being one of them) said to them, 51. “Does our law judge a man before it hears him and knows what he is doing?” 52. They answered and said to him, “Are you also from Galilee? Search and look, for no prophet has arisen out of Galilee.” 53. And everyone went to his own house. 1. The elders who are among you I exhort, I who am a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that will be revealed: 2. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. 10. But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. 13. The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. 14. I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. 15. As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. 16. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd. 17. “Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. 18. 14. Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. 16. If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin which does not lead to death, he will ask, and He will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death. There is sin leading to death. I do not say that he should pray about that. 17. All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not leading to death. 18. We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him. 19. We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. 20. And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ.
