Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders You performed, And in Your thoughts there is no one who shall be likened to You; I declared and said, “They are multiplied beyond number.

31. “If I bear witness of Myself, My witness is not true. 32. There is another who bears witness of Me, and I know that the witness which He witnesses of Me is true. 33. You have sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth. 34. Yet I do not receive testimony from man, but I say these things that you may be saved. 35. He was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing for a time to rejoice in his light. 36. But I have a greater witness than John's; for the works which the Father has given Me to finish—the very works that I do—bear witness of Me, that the Father has sent Me. 37. And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form. 38. But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe. 39. You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. 40. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life. 1. Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. 2. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. 4. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. 5. For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, “The man who does those things shall live by them.” 6. But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) 7. or, “‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8. But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9. that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12. For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13. For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

1. My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality. 2. For if there should come into your assembly a man with gold rings, in fine apparel, and there should also come in a poor man in filthy clothes, 3. and you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, “You sit here in a good place,” and say to the poor man, “You stand there,” or, “Sit here at my footstool,” 4. have you not shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts? 5. Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? 6. But you have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts? 7. Do they not blaspheme that noble name by which you are called? 8. If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well; 9. but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors. 10. For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.

Now as the people were in expectation, and all reasoned in their hearts about John, whether he was the Christ or not, ‘It is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tittle of the law to fail,’ says the Lord to his desciples.

That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness of faith; 31. but Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, has not attained to the law of righteousness. a 32. Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were, by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone. 33. As it is written: “Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense, And whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
