O Lord God of hosts, who is like You? You are powerful, O Lord, and Your truth is around You. You are master of the sea's strength, And You calm the surging of its waves.

5. Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, 6. saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.” 7. And Jesus said to him, “ I will come and heal him.” 8. The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. 9. For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. 12. But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” 13. Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour. The Lord told his desciples, ‘Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.’

But if we say, ‘ From men, ’ all the people will stone us, for they are persuaded that John was a prophet.” 7. So they answered that they did not know where it was from. 8. By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. 12. Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude—innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore. 13. These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.

Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered. 8. Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; 9. not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.

7. Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham. 8. For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.” 11. But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.” 12. Yet the law is not of faith, but “the man who does them shall live by them.” 13. 33. They answered Him, “We are Abraham's descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?” 34. Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. 35. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. 36. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. 37. “ I know that you are Abraham's descendants, but you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you. 38. I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father.” 39. But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, 6. just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works: 7. “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, And whose sins are covered; 8. Blessed is the man to whom the LORD shall not impute sin.” 9. Does this blessedness then come upon the circumcised only, or upon the uncircumcised also? For we say that faith was accounted to Abraham for righteousness. 10. How then was it accounted? While he was circumcised, or uncircumcised? Not while circumcised, but while uncircumcised. 11. And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while still uncircumcised, that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are uncircumcised, that righteousness might be imputed to them also, 12. and the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of the faith which our father Abraham had while still uncircumcised. 13. For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

20. But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 21. Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22. Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23. And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. 24. You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. 25. Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? 26. For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Then He gave him the covenant of circumcision; and so Abraham begot Isaac and circumcised him on the eighth day; and Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob begot the twelve patriarchs.

Likewise the second also, and the third, even to the seventh. 27. Last of all the woman died also. 28. Therefore, in the resurrection, whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had her.” 29. Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. 30. But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying, 32. ‘ I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.” 33. And when the multitudes heard this, they were astonished at His teaching. The Lord told his desciples, ‘Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.’

መዝሙረ ዳዊት Psalm

Let the heart of those who seek the Lord be glad; Seek the Lord and be strengthened; Seek His face continually.

ወንጌል Gospel

30. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31. “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat? ’ or ‘What shall we drink? ’ or ‘What shall we wear? ’ 32. For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. The Lord told his desciples, ‘Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.’

With You is the beginning in the day of Your power, In the brightness of Your saints; “I have begotten You from the womb before the morning star.”

1. And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. 2. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. 3. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. 4. Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, 5. to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. 6. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. 7. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. ‘It is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tittle of the law to fail,’ says the Lord to his desciples.

16. Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all 17. (as it is written, “ I have made you a father of many nations” ) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; 18. who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.” 19. And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah's womb. 20. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21. and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. 22. And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.” 23. Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him, 24. but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, 25. who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.

ዘካልእ መልእክት Universal Epistle

9. If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son. 10. He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. 11. And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. 14. Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. 16. If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin which does not lead to death, he will ask, and He will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death. There is sin leading to death. I do not say that he should pray about that. 17. All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not leading to death. 18. We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him. 19. We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. 20. And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

21. Then they said to him, “We neither received letters from Judea concerning you, nor have any of the brethren who came reported or spoken any evil of you. 22. But we desire to hear from you what you think; for concerning this sect, we know that it is spoken against everywhere.” 23. So when they had appointed him a day, many came to him at his lodging, to whom he explained and solemnly testified of the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus from both the Law of Moses and the Prophets, from morning till evening. 24. And some were persuaded by the things which were spoken, and some disbelieved. 25. So when they did not agree among themselves, they departed after Paul had said one word: “The Holy Spirit spoke rightly through Isaiah the prophet to our fathers, 26. saying, ‘Go to this people and say: “Hearing you will hear, and shall not understand; And seeing you will see, and not perceive; 27. For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.” ’

O seed of Abraham, His servants, O sons of Jacob, His chosen ones. He is the Lord our God; His judgments are in all the earth.

34. Jesus answered and said to them, “The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage. 35. But those who are counted worthy to attain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; 36. nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection. 37. But even Moses showed in the burning bush passage that the dead are raised, when he called the Lord ‘the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. ’ 38. For He is not the God of the dead but of the living, for all live to Him.” 39. Then some of the scribes answered and said, “Teacher, You have spoken well.” 40. But after that they dared not question Him anymore. ‘It is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tittle of the law to fail,’ says the Lord to his desciples.

8. One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to Him, 9. “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?” 10. Then Jesus said, “Make the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. 11. And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted. 12. So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, “Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost.” 13. Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten. 14. Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said, “This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.” Whoever believes in the SON, have eternal life.

Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20. They immediately left their nets and followed Him. 21. Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them, 22. and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him. The Lord told his desciples, ‘Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.’

9. Does this blessedness then come upon the circumcised only, or upon the uncircumcised also? For we say that faith was accounted to Abraham for righteousness. 10. How then was it accounted? While he was circumcised, or uncircumcised? Not while circumcised, but while uncircumcised. 11. And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while still uncircumcised, that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are uncircumcised, that righteousness might be imputed to them also, 12. and the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of the faith which our father Abraham had while still uncircumcised. 13. For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. 14. Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all

These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage. 17. But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: 18. how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts.

Then, fearing lest we should run aground on the rocks, they dropped four anchors from the stern, and prayed for day to come. 30. And as the sailors were seeking to escape from the ship, when they had let down the skiff into the sea, under pretense of putting out anchors from the prow, 31. Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, “Unless these men stay in the ship, you cannot be saved.”

14. Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15. and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” 16. And as He walked by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 17. Then Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” 18. They immediately left their nets and followed Him. 19. When He had gone a little farther from there, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the boat mending their nets. 20. And immediately He called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, and went after Him. 21. Then they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath He entered the synagogue and taught. 22. How long, O you sons of men, Will you be slow of heart? Why do you love vain things And seek after lies? Know that the Lord made His Holy One wondrous.

20. Now there were certain Greeks among those who came up to worship at the feast. 21. Then they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus.” 22. Philip came and told Andrew, and in turn Andrew and Philip told Jesus. 23. But Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified. 24. Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. 25. He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26. If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. Whoever believes in the SON, have eternal life.
